Lou Dobbs is the anchor and managing editor of CNN's Lou Dobbs Tonight. Dobbs also anchors a nationally syndicated financial news radio report, The Lou Dobbs Financial Report, and writes a weekly commentary on CNN.com.

n addition to his current book, "Independents Day: Awakening the American Spirit," he is also the author of the New York Times bestseller "War on the Middle Class," the best-selling book "Exporting America" and co-author of "Space."

Dobbs has won nearly every major award for television journalism. In 2005, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded Dobbs the Emmy for Lifetime Achievement. The previous year, the National Television Academy awarded Lou Dobbs Tonight an Emmy Award for "Exporting America." He received the George Foster Peabody Award for his coverage of the 1987 stock market crash. In 1990, he was given the Luminary Award by the Business Journalism Review for his "visionary work, which changed the landscape of business journalism in the 1980s."

Is the whole us East LA? your only looking at the bad places. What about the good places were immigrants and white and black and all cultures get along im sure theres more people who dont mind immigration cause they come here to work. The problem is the fact that citizens here want jobs that pay 10 etc. and hour while immigrants work for minimum wage and im sure there is people who feel bad for citizens living here who dont have jobs but survival of the fittest is in play

I appreciate your civil tone, josue. But I can prove MadEclectic's point and disprove yours easily with three simple words that offer irrefutable evidence: East Los Angeles. Is this the mecca of decent, hard working, clean living, valuable members of society you're talking about? Should we "embrace diversity" until the entire USA looks just like East LA? We've got to stop immigration now, and send back about 50 million who are already here.

its funny how you think this. im a Mexican yet i dont dress gangster. ive never done or touched drugs. i know many people in American do drugs not all mexican, not all white, not all black, not all people. every culture is different im not gonna say mexicans dont do drugs cause im sure they do. but you havent seen how hard they work. they come to this country to work. just because theyre not doctors or lawyers doesnt mean that they dont work. they do the job no one else wants.

And the same was said about the Irish, and the Poles, and the Germans, and Italians, and the Chinese, etc. Same complaints largely, too... resistance to assimilation, taking jobs, sapping social institutions, raising families that double in size every other year, forming ethnic gangs and selling drugs... bitch, gripe; the death of America; drowning in immigrants.

Complaining about immigrants is a time-honored; American tradition; originally practiced by the Native Americans..
