  • C.) I can not answer your third question very well, because I do not have a voicemail unit so I can't be sure. hope this helps.

  • Cfamcny939, to answer some of your questions, A.) you can split any incoming line before it enters the system, I have done this with all the caller id units and satellite boxes in the house. You can also get an Analog Terminal Adapter from Nortel which will convert an extension from the system to work with any standard phone, fax, ect. B.) if you try to dial out from an extension while another set is using the line the display will say 'line in use by ....'

  • Hi, I'm very new to office phones and PBXs. I was wondering what happens when an outside line calls you, (the same line connected to the PBX). Does it ring all the extensions?

  • It depends on how you program the system. Mine is programed to ring line 1 at all extensions.

  • yea, I bought this system on Ebay. the KSY with the phones was like $150. I upgraded the software for another $60. and about $80 for the Cordless.

  • Yes, I installed the system myself. I was actually pretty lucky because the previous owner had cat 3 wire run for phones, and my room was the split point for the house. so there was a cat 3 cable going to each room on one side of the house, and a second cat 3 going to the other side of the house. each room got 2 pair out of the 4pair that was in the cat 3.

  • I have some questions:

    1. Can you split the incoming main phone line to the house so that one goes to the Nortel digital control panel and one goes to a traditional telephone (i.e., rotary) with a standard duplex phone jack?

    2. What happens if 9 is dialed for an outside line on one of the sets and the outside line is in use?

    3. What happens if someone calls the house and the line is already in use by another set? Can that person be transferred to a voice mailbox?

  • My father works for Nortel Networks since 1958 until today 2010, its was before Northern Electricts, then change to Northern Telecom, and now is Nortel Networks, and i live with my family wish in total is 27 people, and since i born until today we always using Norstar Meridian phones, we have in total 38 phones around the house, and we using the models wish is the M7310, M7324, M7208, T7316e and we using them since years NORTEL NETWORKS IS MUCH BETTER THAN CISCO PHONES they are durable and 4ever

  • Nice, very concise and to the point. I ramble too much in my videos.

  • Very nice! I have a MICS 0X32 and CallPilot 100 installed in my house, working on expanding it. Love the system!

  • Nicely done! :-) I have a 616 cabinet along with the same cordless and M7324's installed at home. Paging sure beats shouting through the stairs to get someone's attention.
