Gear Short - demoing the Jeric LRBHO (last round bolt hold open) and JTE magwell.

Jeric was the first one offering a real LRBHO and too bad he is not able to keep producing parts. Many people have been "coming out" with a LRBHO for years. This one works good but requires a 5 minute mod to the mag. The newest S-12's showing up now (at KVAR at least) have a LRBHO already installed. I'll be interested to see how those work out (and hopefully the price will come down if other vendors retail them as well).

The JTE magwell shown is the AGP model (since I have AGP mags from the original presale). It attaches with three screws to the bottom of the receiver and requires no permanent mods (other than the three screw holes). The AGP mags need the front screw boss and front lip filed down (again about a 5 min mod).

The Saiga-12 shown is a 2001 EAA model that cost $268 at the time.

  • Was the ones sold by the Indiana company contain these actuators LRBHO?

Would an AGP be better than a SGM magwell?

  • @NikolaTeslaJohnGalt - the magwells are more of a preference of what you have. JTE makes one for both kinds. I had AGP's from the original prebuy (before anyone besides Russia made mags).

  • What year are the new ones?

How do you discern the difference?Mine came from the folks in Indiana?I wish to try these ona pump shot gun as well to utilize the drums?

  • @NikolaTeslaJohnGalt - look at KVAR's website for them.

  • @AreYouS3 268? Wow, lucky bro. Just got mine with tax for $756. Did know about these guns back in 2002 though :/

  • Self Sustained system?

  • @AreYouS3 - and yes those are solar panels in the background.

  • @MaskedReaper13 - so I guess we all have to be some redneck hilly billy killing everything that moves? Sorry if I insulted you.

  • i just found my lowest price saiga 12 for $759 online

after the last scare of mag fed shotgun ban prices jumped 150 to 200$

  • The stick mags only. This is an early LRBHO and requires the follower to be modified to engage the LRBHO. Since the drum uses dummy shells as the follower it won't work (they roll).

The newest S12 imports use an actuator that is activated not by the follower's presence but by a shell's absence. So it should work with both types of magazines. I am still waiting for the price to come down on these before I pick one up. They are going for the mid $600's. In 2002, this one was $268!
