A new look at the famous alleyway change from SII, including rescoring and a replacement shot for the takeoff. Little things make a difference. Do you agree?

  • No offense, but I grew up on Ken Thorne's version of this theme. Therefore, I associate his music with 2, and Williams with 1. Personally, I like the fact the music is a bit different in Superman 2.

  • Hey, I can dig it. Thorne has lots of great cues in SII. I guess this particular cue has always been a fav of mine, and this scene has always been a favorite, as well. So, putting the two together was pretty exciting. But absolutely, it's just preference, and I appreciate much of Thorne's work, which is why I'm using a lot of it in the Verisimilitude Cut.

  • Now THIS has a BETTER audio! It truly gives emphasis on the \S/...just like in Superman 1! (No wonder S1 audio was used here; it's just PERFECT!)

  • Hey, thanks, my friend. I'm glad that it made you think of S1. That's the idea, to keep link the two movies to feel like 2 parts of the same film.

  • did you use vegas for this?

  • Actually, Vegas was too complex for me. I used Ulead Video Studio 10 plus. It's very user friendly, yet still quite impressive, as far as all the features it offers. I feel in complete control of my cut, and feel it looks very professional.

  • This scene still gives me the chills - I remember rewinding this on VHS and watching it over and over.

  • @NinoyAquinoTV yes. it would have been even more perfect if Richard Donner & John Williams were to continue w/ the SUPERMAN sequels. this was a nice scene but it didn't fit right to the sequel if you know what i mean. ****

  • file bom

  • adoeri essse tempo

  • @UFOSPACE1999 The version I heard was that John Williams said something to the effect, "I can't work with this man" refering to Richard Lester. The budget cuts that you mention may have something to do with that, but I think Williams just didn't like Lester or think much of his directorial style.

  • I like it!

  • John Williams Is Bad Ass When It Comes To Score Writing.....If You Disagree Then Go Eat A Dick

  • What's the music to this?

  • goooooooooooooooooooooooood haha !

  • Well actually you are wrong. The Salkinds flew John Williams over to meet with lil dick Lester. IT was lil dick lester job to tell John Williams due to cut backs..that he could not use LSO..!!!! AND so John Williams was polite as usual and passed on the project..HE was getting ready for Boston Pops..plus Empire Strikes Back, and he had only a slim margin of writing it. BUT it was the Salkinds who didn't want to pay for Williams..WHO got paid anyways..since it was his music. Let the money roll.

  • @UFOSPACE1999 no....John Williams just didnt want to score the film
