UPDATE: I think I've narrowed it down to a single coordinate. If you place the front-facing pistons where x = 98 and have the pistons face direction 3, this will not work. So far every other coordinate works for. I've even created a new world and I have the same issues.

There appears to be an issue related to pistons and redstone that I cannot explain. Moving the setup by a single block will allow the mechanism to work again.

I've removed all surrounding blocks and it's pretty much just the contraption floating in mid-air. I have no idea why moving everything by 1-block is the difference between working and not working.

What's supposed to happen: Flipping the switch should cause the side pistons to fire first and then the front-facing pistons to fire last. Removing power should cause the front-facing pistons to contract first and the side pistons to contract last.

  • I am having the _exact_ same problem. For some strange reason the upper piston fires to soon, even though it is not powered, and the side pistons are unable to push it. My pistons are also facing f=3. I am guessing it has something to do with the repeater powering the wrong piston. Moving everthing one block solved. You're not the only one who has seen this bug in 1.8.1...
