This song is about an old man who has lost his best friend, his wife of 40 years, his only reason for living. He has to wake every morning with that agonizing loss. The loneliness of a quiet, cold, rainy november morning.

I cried the whole 5:19 minutes a wonderful interpretation of the song. Ive always loved colin hay and this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. and i think briantech said it best the year ago when he commented about what colin meant.
