Threshing oats with my 28x46" McCormick Deering threshing machine and my good friend's 25 Waterloo steamer. I'm running the engine, and watch in the video as my Dad loses the end off of the pitchfork into the mill! HaHa! No damage done, except for the fork! The thresher works flawlessly year upon year, and the mighty Waterloo will pull an 8 furrow plow in heavy ground with ease at 150 psi boiler pressure. Enjoy!
In real life, unless all of the pieces of the fork head could be accounted for that straw stack would be marked so it wouldn't be used for feed, to avoid having a piece ingested by an animal. Smaller pieces may end up in the grain too, so the load would be screened before unloading the grain into the bin. Had to do it more than once. The fellow who caused the problem wasn't very popular with the crew or the farmer.
