In early 2005, MTH brought out a Premier line model of the Reading T-1 Northern (4-8-4) steam locomotive. These locomotives are very recognizable as they were the stars of the "Reading Rambles" that were run with them well after the railroad switched over to diesel power. The model is an excellent representation of the prototype -- it looks great, it sounds great, and it runs very well as you can see in this True HD 1080p video. I have it pulling my "pipeline on rails," a string of 40 tank cars. Unlike the previous Challenger video, here I've used only the longer tank cars and have gone through my collection to use all of the ones that carry railroad names. See how many you can find! :) Please visit my web site -- http://www.toytrains1.com -- to see lots more videos and photos of both real and model trains.

  • Damn that is mighty fine. I rode some of the old T-1 excursions.

  • Beautiful locomotive!! But I despise that freight whistle; too European for my tastes. Yes I know it's original and authentic but I wish they would have used an N&W 12" hooter which has a lower note and sounds more authoritative than the Reading hooter, or use a Reading 6-note passenger whistle. For the record the Lionel Reading T-1's Railsounds whistle IS the authentic Reading 6-chime passenger whistle. Just my two lousy pennies.

  • @AlexR47x Or u can just use a brush and brush em off

  • @randomstuff1282 When our trains get dusty we us an air nozzle hooked up to an air compressor to blow the dust off

  • How do you keep your T-1 from getting dusty?

  • nice video i am starting to work on mine its pretty big for a beginner. but i will be posting some pics and videos soon.
