Performed on The White Room, 1995. Forgive the hiccup around the middle (the clip, not Jarvis).

  • love pulp, dont know what this song is about but its eerie... especially the bit wer the dolls crying.. what album is this off?? or is it a b-side??

  • This song was first released as just a single in 1985, then later made its way on to various compilations, Masters of the Universe and Countdown for examples.

  • Aint this about his ma ?

  • Right you are. If memory serves me correctly JC found a photo of his mum when she was pregnant and heard the story of how she gave up art to be a mother. And there's also that deadbeat dad, but save for next bedtime.

  • Pulp so under rated.. jarvis writes some very deep lyrics they should be ranked much higher on any all time list.

  • This was the first Pulp song i heard, at the age of 12. I was sneaking around my sister's room and stole a homebrewed cassette from her dressing table. The tracks i remember are: Stiff Little Fingers - Alternative Ulster Pistols - Bodies Tenpole Tudor -Swords of a Thousand Men Adam and the Ants - Ant Music Pulp - Little Girl with Blue Eyes Breeders - Cannonball Where is my Mind - Pixies Debaser - Pixies The music that i heard on that cassette opened my eyes to what music could be.

  • Love her water ring!!! 1:01

  • Come to my bed

  • Pulp *-* Is Fantastic! Come To Chile Please! ♥

  • His dad's a radio DJ called Mac Cocker actually, who once did this thing where he made listeners believe he was Joe Cocker's brother. And also both Joe and Jarvis were born in Sheffield. It would be hilarious if Joe were Jarvis' dad though :)

  • Missed this performance first time 'round, awesome stuff...

  • well,...my eyes kinda scare me now...

  • @kidaok00 IN my view they were much better than boh Oasis and Blur put together. They are as good as the Smiths or the Cure in my view. So many of their great early songs got the coverage when they made it big. The accoustc versions of Dogs are everywhere, Joyriders and Razzmatazz on the Common People single opened it up. It is sill a fucking dsgrace that Common People was kept off number 1 by Robson and Jerome - fucking Simon Cowell opportunist wanker.

  • Kind of unsettling lyrics, yes (do a search on "pulp little girl with blue eyes" and you'll find them at mp3 lyrics) that have the feel of a Scott Walker song.

  • pulp was first band i saw live at the gradn ol' age of 8 with my dad (good times)

  • @fizzb100 is your sister single
