The Carney 10k Road Race, now in its fifth year, has become one of the cornerstones of the athletics calendar of North Sligo in recent years. This year took the event to a new level, with chip timings, kids fun run and walking events, and post event catering.There was nearly 400 competitors in the 10k run alone, not to mention the walkers and kids races. Congrats to Emmett Dunleavy of the Sligo Athletics Club who came in first in a time of 31:46, and also to Elish Kelly of Raheny Shamrocks who was the first lady at 36:08.
