I did this trek in Aug 1992 and camped overnight at triund. Had a bonfire in night after recovering a tree trunk from the nearby ravine. Then went up to the glacier. It was just brillant. Climbed from RMC to triund in 5 hours. brought back my memories

The Triund allways will remind me that "If you really wish something all world help you to reach it"... the way from McLeod Ganj to Triund was great experiece and Gift for me. I am not sure if I'd have enough courrige to repeat it onece going up through ice, but that time I risked and found the Heaven in the Earth :)
