@brainslurper please explain "a lot of ways to fix" a troubled economy, excluding government intervention! As was proven in the Depression of 1920 as opposed to the Great Depression...by keeping the government out of the private sector and allowing troubled assets to fail, clear the books and be absorbed into successful business models, the Depression of 1920 lasted 18 months, where as the Great Depression lasted 15 years, only ending in great part because of the manufacturing boom of WW2!

@ShotokanGene I think there are a lot of ways to fix a troubled economy, but do you think if he had let the banks and auto makers fail, that would have been any better then what he did? That would make our unemployment go far beyond what we are complaining about now. What would you have done in his spot?

@brainslurper I had originally posted in response to "We started these wars. Who attacked who?" I hadn't seen that was a response to something else after reading farther back i see that you are a fine American. On a clarifying note you said, "for undoing 8 years of damage Obama has done a stellar job so far" is this sarcasm or do you support the Keynesian idea of government intervention countering depression?

@ShotokanGene I am fine with the amount of death our soldiers have imposed on terrorists, but not with the amount of deaths we have inflicted on civilians. And I don't blame them for that. I blame our country for sending them into a very populated area, where the enemy hides with the regular population, and for sending them there for no reason. The amount of deaths (Military and otherwise) in afghanistan is far less then that in iraq. I am just mad that this was totally avoidable.

@brainslurper If terrorists are not representing a country and have no official military training then they are classified as "civilians". Our boys didn't enlist to kill innocents. I feel fine with the amount of death our soldiers have imposed on terrorists and hope the number keeps rising, because I have faith in the men who would die for us. The terrorists who kidnap and strap bombs to civis are to blame for innocent deaths. The war isn't over until our enemies are done for.

@soukupb You have to think about whether wild assumptions about wmds are enough to kill that many people over.
