Empowering women and achieving gender equality are key to driving economies and reducing feminized poverty. UNIFEM, in cooperation with the International Centre for Research on Women (ICRW) and the World Bank, works to implement pilot Results-Based Initiatives (RBIs) in six countries to advance and measure the impacts of women's economic empowerment.

This video provides a snapshot of the RBI that is currently being implemented in Kenya. The project seeks to strengthen the export competitiveness of Maasai women bead workers from the impoverished region of Kajiado.

Produced by Jennifer Cooper and edited by David Moore as part of UNIFEM's Flip Video Project.
