A quick run through of all the weapons available in awesome, followed by the

death animations and game over sequence.

Weapons in order of appearance:

Cannons - Your main weapon that cannot be removed, it can be powered up or down

by swapping power between it and the shields.

Weapon Frame and Full Powered Cannon - Origionally it was intended that you

bought the weapon frame seperate to the weapons, they decided against this in

the end but you can see by pressing "2" while the cheats are enabled that they

left it in, it serves no purpose.

Spherical Bombs - One of only two weapons that can destroy the rings that

surround you at the beginning of two of the levels.

Radial Disruptor - This weapon works like a single use smartbomb (although you

can buy it multiple times and use it as many times as you bought it) It's fairly

expensive however and has no real advantage to taking a normal weapon.

Flamethrower - It was intended that the flamethrower be a good weapon for using

against organic enemies, however it appears to do nothing against any enemy at

all.

Pulse Laser - A smaller version of the Wide-Beam Cannon, faily effective against

everything and useful in most situations.

Peripheral Gun (with all 5 barrels) - You have to buy each directional shot

seperately, each shot is quite weak but if you can get one side right next to an

enemy it should be enough to kill them quite quicky.

Wide-Beam Plasma Cannon - My favorite weapon, good against most things and

reasonably cheap.

Mortar Bolts - The only other weapon that can destroy the rings that surround

you at the start of two levels. Destroys any enemy on contact however it usually

destroys anything that they would have dropped with it.

Energy Syphon - This weapon isn't actually named, however when used against

other ships it drains there energy and gives it to you. The weapon is obtained

from the space station at Volcurn.

Sonic Mining Laser - The weapon can only damage asteroids, however it has a

chance of making them leave crystals behind which can be collected and sold.

Pulse Shower - Available towards the end, its basically the Peripheral Gun but

with more firing points, very useful for the asteroid belts towards the end of

the game.

  • Not sure why youtube wouldn't let me reply to the previous comment either, and i've accidently deleted it.

You should be able to get hold of the Mod files for the music at ExoticA.

  • Wow, no idea why this video looks so bad compared to the other ones i've recorded. I'd probably suggest you watch it in high quality as it does look much better.

  • Some of the best ever music on the amiga...

  • I bought this game back in 1990 and as per usual it came with the signature Psygnosis T-Shirt that was WAY TOO BIG for me! :) but i just realised when watching this video that i didn't try ALL the weapons that were available! .. silly me :(

Great music in this game i will forever remember, especially the game over music and the picture of a lone figure with his head bowed down in the emptiness of space and time :)

  • Music at 3:58 & 5:38 :) Some of the greatest in the game.

  • I played this game when I was 8-10 years old and it was the creepiest I've ever played. The music was fast and haunting, just like the game. The gigant space-snakes coming at you.

And then the super sad music with the picture of you being stuck alone forever on some distant planet... great, artistic stuff, still touches me.

  • O man I remember this game, played it about 20 years ago!!! The music was great.
