Levi passed just a day before my birthday. His voice shaped my life from a boy of 8 years old, when I bought my first 45, Reach Out, til the man I am today. You may have passed, but your voice and light will live on.

As a fan of Motown, growing up in Detroit was the most amazing musical exposure. I lived in the west side neighborhood where all the Motown stars lived, Stevie Wonder lived around the block from me, Lawrence Payton, Levi Stubbs, Duke Fakir all lived near me. I feel fortunate to have been a child hood friend of Roqe Payton who I am proud of. Motown was and is magic, an enchanting sound that will never die. Long live the immortal voice of Levi Stubbs. Your voice will forever be heard & loved.

@abjuttie You are a person who has had a share of their lives and although I think you are more lucky, maybe not as you have more sadness at seeing the people you know slowly ebb away with them taking the old music to see, but our memories won't fail us and R.I.P. x

This is so beautiful.......I was so lucky to see them in UK when I was in my 20s it seems things are always going to be there that we love and enjoy, but time changes us all and we lose the people and the music we loved that we followed and shows how short life really is. But thanks for sharing this with us we fans won't forget

The Four Tops released this "originally." and nobody can quite sing it like them. It was "thee" song to sing at weddings during the 80's :-)
