U.S. President Woodrow Wilson was among the statesmen who gathered in France in June 1919 to sign the Treaty of Versailles, an agreement that did little to heal the wounds of World War I and set the stage for World War II. http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9075152/Treaty-of- Versailles?source=youtube_18879

@viola229 You have forgotten to say, that this 1/3 territory, which German lost to Poland, was looted by Prussien in years 1772, 1792, 1795 /Partitions of Commonwealth/. In this situation we should to say, that Poland simply retake ours territory.

The Peace Treaties at that time were the beginning of the Second World War. Germans in the newly-founded national states Poland and Czechoslovakia were not granted the promised homerule. They were discriminated. Germany lost 1/3 of its territory to Poland and East Prussia was separated. Hungary lost 2/3 of its country. Hungarians became a discriminated minority in their neighbouring states.. One of the reasons for the rise of Fascism in the countries concerned.

The mos stupid myth of the Versaile Treaty is the thinking, that the Poland was created by the treaty.
Poland was occupied by the Germany,Russia and Austria for 120 years. Immediatelly, after Germany surrender to France, Polish people started their fight for the independence in Germany occupied Poland.
We fought hard, and within a year, there was no single German soldier in independent Poland
Then, the western powers sign a treaty, stating that Poland can exist as state. What a privilage...
