How nice that these guys, those that started it all with ITCOTCK, are still with us, and playing so well. The drumming is spot on, just right, not pushing it. It's great to (still) be alive and to keep hearing this tune as originally played. A gift for sure!

where be the clarinets?

Amazing! This is why I love music. I bought this King Crimson album in 1969. This has always been one of my favorite songs by them! This version is just incredible.

@timaquin1, U R so Fuckin' RIGHT. This version seems sped up. But it's very nice to listen to this song live, in so great qualitiy.

Actually would do with a slower pace like the original. Ian McDonald SUPERB, Mr Giles Honestly expected more from the original drumworks, he sounded a tad basic here with almost no fills at all. Singer doesnt fit in my appreciation. But what can i say, its a real gift for us die-hard crimson fans to have this masterpiece live.

Mr. Ian McDonald - you have my greatest admiration. Don't ever stop playing that beautiful flute.

Im now 57th but one the best music of my century...with love lucia..

I personally like how the original by King Crimson is more mellowed out with the instrumentals and lyrics.
But nonetheless this version is still amazing in its own right.
The lyrics for this song are amazing.

In my view the best version of this song was a demo recorded by Judy Dyble, Fripp, McDonald, Mike and Peter Giles before Crimson was formed. The Giles brothers and McDonald play on this version.
Giles was a great drummer in his day and one of my favourties. He played on the first two Crimson albums, but he seems to have gotten old.
This is the 21st Century Schizoid Band.

@Onfex This is indeed not King Crimson, but 21st Century Schizoid Band. Four of the five members have been playing in King Crimson, two of them on the original studio version of this song. One of them, Ian McDonald, actually composed the melody. So why not give them the credit they deserve.
