Father and Daughter, chapter 18

After making sure that Annamarie was safely inside, and busy watching TV, Joe, Kevin, and I got back into the car. Once the doors closed, we all let the anger flow freely. We hadn't wanted to get angry in front of Annamarie, she was upset enough as it was, but, that slime ball raped my daughter!
"How could he hurt her? He's such a…"
"How sick do you have to be"
"Let's take care of him guys! I wanna see him cry!"
Even though we were all furious, none of us wanted to go to his house and beat him up. After all, if we hurt him, then we're not better than he is. Instead, I maneuvered the car down the busy streets to the police station. The police officer was interested until I told him the rape was almost two months ago.
"What do you expect me to do, Sirs? There's not much I can do!" the officer, Officer Grady, exclaimed. "Even if we did go to his house, there's a 99% chance he'll say he didn't do it!"
"What about that other one percent?" I coldly asked him, and he shrugged, defeated. He probably knew that if he didn't at least try to talk to the sleezeball himself, we could use our power over the press to bad talk the station. And believe me, we would. Because I want everything possible done to put this jerk behind bars.
"Alright, let's go." Officer Grady grabbed his hat and walked out the doors. We followed him out of the station and into his squad car .The car was silent for the 20 minutes it took to drive there. Finally, we pulled up in front of a huge house. Even though it was huge, it was very run down; it looked just like a place where a rape would occur. I made a silent promise, for Annamarie of course, that I would not hurt the guy as soon as I saw him.
Officer Grady got out of the car and sighed. Clearly he thought this was a waste of his time. He walked up to the door, with the 3 of us right behind him, and knocked sharply on the door 3 times.
"Open up, police." He barked, and around 30 seconds later, somebody did. And there he stood, all high and mighty like when Annamarie and he would sneak out every night, with that stupid smirk on his face. His eyes searched over his 'visitors', and when he saw Joe, Kevin, and I, his grin widened.
"Ah, I see she finally told you." He said.
"Wait, What did you say?" Officer Grady asked, dumbfounded. If we weren't here because this jerk had raped my little girl, I would have laughed at his expression.
"I assume that this is because I raped his daughter a while ago?" the sleezeball said. God, why does he look so happy? It's sickening.
"You're admitting to it?" Officer Grady clarified.
"I'm guilty." Robert said, and laughed. "Who wouldn't admit it?"
I was balling my hand into a fist so hard that I could feel my nails making indents in my skin.
"I HAD SEX WITH NICK JONAS' DAUGHTER!" the sleezeball shouted, and I took a step toward him, my right fist raise din the air.
"Nick, no!" my brothers shouted in unison, and pulled me back. "You're better than that."
A flash picture of Annamarie, crying, cowering against the door before she told me about Robert, and I knew she wouldn't want me to hurt him.
"Nobody would blame you." Officer Grady muttered to me as he handcuffed Robert.
5 minutes later, the car Officer Grady had called arrived, and a still-smirking Robert climbed into the car. Officer Grady shook his head disgustedly and climbed into his own car. Halfway back to the station, Officer Grady said,
"you know, I've worked at the station for 17 years, and never once has a criminal admitted to a crime that occurred 2 months ago."
"Yea, well, she's my little girl. And he was NOT going to get away with this,e specially now that she's pregnant." I replied, and Officer Grady almost slammed on his breaks in shock.
"She's pregnant?!!??!?!" he gasped, and proceeded to mutter under his breath.
"you now, Mr. Jonas's, I don't know your daughter, their niece, but I feel awful sorry fo her. I'll make sure this guy is locked up for a long time." Officer Grady promised.
"Thank you." We chorused.
"It means a lot." I added, and for the first time, I smiled.
