Heavens to Ravi Shankar! THANKS for posting this cool clip! I was a teenager when this show ran on the late night ABC lineup & don't recall ever watching it. Though I did see the very droll Mr Bishop in the mid-70's as a substitue host for Johnny Carson on "The Tonight Show". You've MADE my day & my week! CHEERS!

@goo4ssie I saw it, just by luck. I always switched btw Carson, Bishop, and whatever was on locally. Regis was probably influenced by Jack Paar's famous walkout years earlier. Regis and Joey were talking and right away you could tell it was serious ,Joey was like a deer in headlights, it was completely real. Regis was in tears saying something I and likely 95% of the audience didn't get about his leaving, then split. Total silence. Later I learned he had heard some ABC execs panned him.

Bishop's Nehru jacket is fucking sharp. Regis' looks like something a 90-year-old woman would wear.
