Our instructional Iron Palm DVD teaches the methods for
conditioning all surfaces of the hands and forearms which is a necessary precursor before any breaking can take place. With this break, the board is not braced against anything, it is only held in the opposite hand. The slap must be quick enough that the board does not have a chance to move and
explosive and focused enough that the board will break. No padding is between the board and the hand. As you watch, also listen. You will hear as the board is patted, and then
broken, that it is a solid, durable piece of wood. Iron Palm training should be done safely and carefully so as not only to
develop the hands but also build the health of the hands. Using the hands improperly will only result in cumulative damage to the hands later in life and, possibly, arthritis. So
training should ALWAYS be done with the health of the body in mind first. Lastly, there may be those interested in training the hands but not breaking boards. You don't have
to engage in board breaking to develop strength in the hands or the health of the hands, so not having a desire to break boards or other objects should not deter you from the pursuit of Iron Palm training. Besides, from a self defense standpoint, I have never heard of anyone being attacked by a board, brick or paver so far. We each have to choose
the "path" that best suits our needs and bodies.

Students of this DVD and our other DVD's can expand their knowledge via online instruction and testing.
