an orthodox rabbi and take the next step. May G-d Almighty

bless and protect you on your journey. You should know there

are many similiarities between blacks and Jews - well, American

blacks anyway as we were both enslaved at some point in our

development. Also dancing, singing, and music are big parts of

our culture. As well as happiness and connection to G-d. Oppression,

while harsh, can bring out good things in people after the pain has worn

Speaking from personal experience, what I named previously gets old really quick. One can not make an informed decision about conversion, especially if they are not white, without knowing the information I provided and asking themselves if it's something they can handle for the rest of their lives. Rabbonim don't want to create sinning Jews!

Any person of color whether they are Asian, African American, Hispanic, whatever, should be informed that they will need to deal with the following: People outright asking if they are a convert (when they shouldn't ask even if they suspect it), stares from people when they enter a shul (sometimes their own shul) or a restaurant, people constantly questioning their background or people assuming they are not halachically Jewish or that they are a convert even if they were born Jewish.

First of all, although Ethiopian Jews have been welcomed in Eretz Yisrael, they are widely discriminated against. You need to acknowledge that fact. As for acceptance of people who "don't look Jewish" in the Orthodox community, it's not all great. I really depends where the person lives and how welcoming the community is.

All Abrahamic religions have mistreated black people very poorly. I don't know why anyone would encourage someone of African descent to join any of these three VERY racist religions.
