Dr. Erik Heen presents the inaugural lecture as the John H.P. Reumann Chair in Biblical Studies at the chairing convocation on April 5, 2011. His lecture, "The Antikythera Mechanism, the Bible and the Cross," explores the Antikythera Mechanism, an ancient mechanical computer designed to calculate astronomical positions that was recovered in 1900--01 from the bottom of the sea near the Greek island of Antikythera.
