Some paints wont pop until they have a gloss coat. Especially metalics and perils base paints.

LOL, sounds like you had some fun bud. The more you use it the more natural it will become. Ive probably logged about 48hrs in total now on mine. Moved onto minis now, they are an excellent tool and you will not regret ever having it. Excellent work on the rhino bud, i can see the shading. Whats next ? :)

I have to agree with everything you said, as it matched my experience exactly. Can't argue with the results though.

thats why I always suggest to people >practice on hard surfaces.. I used to use 2 liter bottles.. paper is flat and absorbent , nothing like a solid multi-surface model.
than you won't have to readjust once you start painting models...good job there !

@TheRocketSilo that is a very good point my friend if you are lucky to have scenery would be great place to start. like you said paper and plastic are going to give a totaly different result because of the absorbent nature of the paper
