How to teach a Dachshund to "sit" using clicker training, food rewards, and positive reinforcement. This video covers the Basic 101's of the queue "sit" and talks about using the clicker training method.

Please check out this video to learn how to condition your dog to the sound of the clicker and how to train with food: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlrvhzWCurI
BEFORE you start training your dog using my videos or any clicker-training videos.

Please also ensure your veterinarian gives you the OK to train your dog before starting any dog training program.

Have fun, and thanks for watching! Feel free to post your dog training videos as a response to this one!

  • His nails look funny. hahahahaha!

I like your videos very very much..

Just a question, are Dachshunds so hard to be trained?

  • @SuperDanVEVO I don't really think they are that hard to be trained compared to other dogs I have worked with. It does depend on each dog and the dog's personality as to how fast the dog will catch on to training and also what kind of treats/toys motivate the dog. However, I find that if you take time to train your dachshund (or any dog) once or twice a day for 5-10 minutes at a time, your dog will get faster and better at learning tricks.

  • Hello, I watched you clips and I have a couple of questions about training... Did you introduce more than one command at once or did you gradually do it? Utimately, I want my puppy (Scarlett-4mos) to do these basic commands:

Sit before/after we step to go outside/inside

Stay and sit until I put her food bowl on the floor

Go "inside" her crate ( still crate training... she doesnt poop, but stil pees)

    "Sit"

    "Stay"

    "Leave it"

    "Down"

    Any suggestions?
