Think about it, how often does humanity dream about heaven, never remembering that there is a downside to everything. Also, think about the third verse in the songplayed forward. "There's a sign on the wall, but she wants to sure because you know sometimes words have two meanings." Also the "hermit" that strongly symbolizes this song has a star of david in his lantern. its not saying they worship satan. its just opposite of the stairway to heaven the stairway to hell. theres two roads you can go by, one is heaven one is hell the devil is obviously backwards. jimmy page is literally a genius all LZ merely did was demonstrate the two roads through song among other things
