2 Mobile Mardi Gras Parades 2009

These are a couple of newer groups, both of them women's groups, who paraded Feb. 16: Mobile Mystical Ladies and the Order of Venus. Both groups rent their floats (in this case from Inca and the Conde Cavaliers) and both parades were heavy on truck bands. The Mystical Ladies seemed to have some trouble filling the floats with riders, but the OOVs were robust in number, and those ladies can throw some stuff. The giant thing my friend threw me, by the way, was a stuffed gorilla. She rocks.
