2012 for Dumbies

Animated video by our good friend Charlie Frost (Woody Harrelson) explaining the Earth Crust Displacement (Real Theory by Charles Hapgood) that is coming in 2012. (Yes this video was made for the viral advertising of the movie 2012 That does not make the theory wrong, just the movie well researched.) Charlie is trying to warn us before it is too late that we may be due for a cataclysmic crustal movement that is the slate cleaner of natural disasters.

Look into it and you may find something quite surprising, that it is not as crazy as people often try to claim.

Recent work by scientists and geologists Adam Maloof of Princeton University and Galen Halverson of Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France, suggests that Earth indeed rebalanced itself around 800 million years ago during the Precambrian time period. They tested this idea by studying magnetic minerals in sedimentary rocks in a Norwegian archipelago. Using these minerals, Maloof and Halverson found that the north pole shifted more than 50 degrees — about the current distance between Alaska and the equator — in less than 20 million years. This reasoning is supported by a record of changes in sea level and ocean chemistry in the Norwegian sediments that could be explained by true polar wander, the team reports in the SeptemberOctober 2006 issue of the Geological Society of America Bulletin.

Much work on this subject has been done by William Hutton and can be found at The Hutton Commentaries website. William Hutton and Jonathan Eagle in 2004 published Earth's Catastrophic Past and Future, which summarizes and extends their earlier work on possible mechanisms and timing of a future pole shift.

there are so many different theories to the 2012 date ,my theory is the Mayans ended their calender on the last day of the yr Dec 21 like our Dec 31st except they had a longer calender if there is any disaster I believe the human elitists will be behind it...there is no doubt the worlds resources are in sharp decline oil,food,water and there is only so long the elite will let this go on

@GrooveDoctor77 yes there are many different theories of 2012, and the Maya to our knowledge never said it was the end. They seem to have believed in cycles, so the ending of their calendar would most likely mean the starting again at the beginning. However this is the end of their 5th great cycle, & each cycle end had great natural disasters. That we have started a magnetic pole reversal & are in a massive solar cycle does point toward some natural events causing harm along with Human issues.

If you've ever taken Geology 101, you would know that this video is based off of non-scientific ideas... in other words, completely incorrect. The Earth's core IS melted. It's actually SO hot that the iron is liquid. How do we know this? Geologists use ultrasound to listen to the Earth's insides. The pulse a sound wave THROUGH the Earth, and test how long it takes for the wave to hit various parts of the crust. If the sound is produced in California... (continued)

Yes and no about the earth's core. "The Earth has an outer silicate solid crust, a highly viscous mantle, a liquid outer core that is much less viscous than the mantle, and a solid inner core. " From wiki.

Solid core, not liquid. You were probably referring to the mantle though. Which is not so liquid, due to the pressures. It is like silly putty semi solid.

so this super advanced calender, can measure time better than our calenders - what exactly does that mean? what makes this calender better? and even if it is better, how does that make these prophesies true?

and don't you find it a bit odd that the date predicted by this perfect calender comes out in such a neat and nice date on our calender? 12-21-12, that is very fortunate indeed! why not for example 6-17-84? but exactly this nice looking number?

@eran5005 Mayan calenders based on Olmec calenders were actually more accurately tuned to the earth and stars with closer to true measurement of time. Our leap year is due to inaccuracy in our calendar. Does this make does it make the prophesy true. Well it is not even a prophecy as generally thought. The calendar ends, that is it. No text saying what will happen. How ever, the ends of each Mayan age ALL had great disasters. There is reason to suspect disasters for this end of age also.

Not the end of the world, but the end of the world as we know it! It's coming people. Take California for instance, should be about 2 biggies before the one that looks like the movie 2012 scene, then of course that would cause a tsunami that would destroy Japan. I think that would be enough to pretty much scare the living crap out of the rest of the world and there would be chaos. Or say upper Europe bites it as Edgar Cayce predicted. Who knows, but the next 5 years may surprise many people.
