  • i really love to watch your responses to zeplin`s videos... living only with japanese in japan for very long time, i really miss person with objective opinions, having both, japanese and western point of view. your videos are very refreshing. respect!

  • @marianka1980 Thanks so much! I'm glad they've been good for you. You will get used to it the longer you live there. It just takes a while to adjust.

  • Does japanese persons tend to open up more to foreigners from the west?cause it doesn't have the same stigma to it sort of?

  • @ImIwilliamImI I'm not sure if they're more open in the west of Japan, but in general they tend to be more extroverted and laid-back (this is a generalization). They are still Japanese though.

  • @yuichituba

Thats not what i was asking about xD

I wonder if Japanese persons are more open to foreigners or westerners in a conversation.

    Speak more freely sort of.

    ( sorry if bad English)

  • @ImIwilliamImI Oh sorry about that. No problem! I think it's the same amount that Japanese are to Westerners. They may be more welcoming and friendly though. I know some Japanese people when they go live in another country that they open up and come out of themselves, if you know what I mean. But then moving back to Japan is always difficult for them.

  • I have Japanese buddies who are open with me (shockingly open) but it took a while for them to reach that level, more than it would take with Western friends. I might be thinking too much about this but the society is very insular. People mix mostly with those whom they know really well...that's why Kobe and Kyoto, which are so close to each other, have quite different dialects.

  • I always find it difficult to talk with Japanese people about serious things. Yuichi, have you noticed that as well? Now I am able to 空気を読める and know what not to bring up with them. But it seems like part of that loneliness that gaijin experience is because they have a hard time finding other Japanese who will talk about serious things. Talking about food, hobbies is fun but you should be able to share more things with people than just that.

  • That's terrible! What makes someone think that their so special that their entitled to be happy at the exspense of someone else's suffering.

  • @novajoke peaceful country?? hahahaha how you dare say it? Japan is the closest ally of USA, supporting it's politics including stupid wars... like the Iraq war! how a country where the minister honors war criminals as they were heroes can be called peaceful? hahaha what a joke!

  • @kitsune090

The same can be said for other countries then.... The people in America suffers from depression due to supposedly low wages, to not being able to keep with Jones. Thank god America has all those anti-depression pills to keep them happy.

When you say system, education, culture prevent you to be...... what?? When you say "break" rules are you talking about all those demonstration like in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia?

Japan is a peaceful country unlike America, Britain...

  • @novajoke im just giving you an information. "Happiness is state of being" oh really? It's not what the others think, but what is fact. and the fact is Japan is not a happy country in general although there are many happy people living here. Is not so easy to be happy in a country where the system, education and culture prevent you to be. but there are smart and strong people who just go and broke these rules and trow away all this shit and start to be themselves and become happy!

  • @kitsune090

So you do like clueless TokyoZeplin then?

Happiness is state of being. Who cares what others think as long as you are happy instead of others telling you so.

  • @novajoke his tiny little Denmark just happens to be one of the greatest countries in the world. Denmark is way better country than Japan in most all aspects. it's considered the happiest country in the world in a list of 20. Obviously Japan is out of this list.
