Richard Vincent Segreto Macaraeg is a half-Filipino, half-American singer, songwriter, recording artist, actor, teacher, journalist and historian. This Balladeer is popular in the Philippines as Ric Segreto.
Ric Segreto was born on September 27, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York to an Italian-American dietician, Bridget Segreto and a Filipino abdominal surgeon, Godofredo Macaraeg.
His song, "Kahit Konting Pagtingin" rocked the country and became an instant favorite. This launched his career as a recording artist.
His first album was released under Vicor entitled Segreto, followed by Man of Honor. Since then, his English Original Pilipino Music (OPM) Songs are subject to many compilation albums even until now.
On September 6, 1998, at the age of 45, Ric met a tragic accident death while riding his motorcyclcle on his way home to Makati. He was hit by debris possibly from conctruction workers on the Buendia Flyover.
Though his death saddened his fans, his songs remained eternal and remembered until today.
