Now, I can see that you are using a brush to do your smoke. They make a type of pen, called an brush-pen, that is like a pen, but has the fat tip of a marker, but it's soft and malleable, like a brush. Is it possible to use that in the same manner here?

@tobi1480 I know the brush you mean. The main reason I'm dipping with a brush old school is that it runs out of ink and I can get unpredictable dry-brush effects from it. That's where the fun is for me, in not knowing exactly what the finished art will look like.

i was wondering if you might be able to help me with the kind of paper i will need. i need something that is to work with and wont bleed when i use ink on it.
Appreciate your help!

@JrockLoverYuu, I use bristol board, with a vellum surface. 15 bucks or so for 20 sheets. that and good india ink: Koh-i-noor rapidograph ink or doc martins black star works well for me. experiment! you can also find good paper at an office supply store :)

@emaicee thank you! one more thing(sorry...im such a noob cake!) how do you make ink diffrent shades? by adding water of by adding diffrent amounts of ink?

@JrockLoverYuu: Here is a better answer: there is no wrong way. only a more effective way to what you want to accomplish. do whatever works for you. The main thing is to make sure you can scan/photograph it so it can be printed. That's the only criteria. Have fun and make mistakes. There are no magic bullets or brushes.
