  • @schimmelpenninq: If he thought the hat was stupid I'm sure he wouldn't wear it.

Also, his playing is quite good, so you're just being a dick telling him to take lessons.

  • why that stupid hat?

    take some bass lessons man!

  • dude can slap

  • props for the Jaco Pastorius poster

  • @mr4y 4k is the price of the No-frills basses, that are mroe affordable and take less time to build, but they're only 4-string basses.

  • @mr4y After you do that, Carl will call you back when your bass is finished and tell you the rest you're supposed to pay. Carl basses range from 6k to more depending on some factors.

  • @squiresuzuki That's not how it goes.

First, you make a deposit of a specific value. Some time later, Carl will call you asking if you want the hook or ball scroll, preference for light or dark woods, scale length(36" being more common), number of strings and some electronic details I don't know. The only thing design wise you decide is if you want dark woods or light woods, Carl decides how your bass is gonna look.

  • @frizzlefry420oh You don't just "buy" a carl thompson...you tell Carl all the features you want, the woods, tops, fretboard, strings, etc, then you wait 2-3 years for him to build it, then you pay $4,000-$10,000 or more dollars for it. Same goes for Fodera, MTD, Alembic, Zon, Ritter, Ken Smith, Elrick, Brubaker, Skjold, etc.

  • Great sounding bass
