The School of the Americas Watch 11

On November 18th, 2007 at the 18th annual Vigil to Close the School of the Americas (SOA) in Columbus, Georgia, ten SOA Watch activists entered the Fort Benning military base through a side entrance in an attempt to carry the protest to the site of the SOA/WHINSEC. Le Anne Clausen, Diane Lopez Hughes, Stephen Schweitzer, Gus Roddy, Ozone Bhaguan, Arthur Landis, Chris Lieberman, Michelle Yipe, Ed Lewinson, and Joan Anderson were arrested by military police. Tiel Rainelli, climbed the barbed wire fence at the main gate during the funeral procession, raising the number of arrested to eleven.
On January 28th, 2008 the "SOA Watch 11" went on trial.

None of them are "smelly hippies" nor potheads. At least two of them are clergy and one of those two is my niece and god daughter, Le Anne Clausen.  She is currently serving her sentence for this and is due to be released in about a week.

She is one of my heros.
