This is excellent! I wish my EO vid could have turned out half as nice. If you guys ever need any help, I will work for free!

Furtado won the national bluegrass banjo contest in 1987 and 1991. Then he switched to guitar. He and Phish's drummer Jon Fishman had not played together before. Pretty amazing.

Furtado rules on the slide...guess you'd call him a "Slide Rule". Be sure to see him because he's on the road again and awesome to watch!
-
The singing with those wild harmonics, that's called mongolian chant.
-
fishman gutteral noises. SWEET

Stumbled onto this by accident. These guys kick ass. Very strange, very different. I like it.
It's Tuvan throat singing, the Flecktones had a guy named Kongar on Outbound who was a throat singer, check it out. I'm not sure if this guy is really doing it or sorta fakin' it. Tony Furtado kicks ass!

Whooley's throat singing is real, taught to him by genuine tuvans. Fishman may have been faking it, though I'm sure there is some authenticity to his throat sounds as well.
