Excel and Space Ships!

This is a project I've been working on for the past few months - it is a game I call "Ultimate Star Fighter" that I made in Microsoft Excel using Visual Basic for Applications. The game allows you to design your ship from scratch and then fly it around on an Excel spreadsheet.

The game currently has one weapon - this video shows it firing. You have to look pretty close (maybe even watch it full screen) in order to see the shots come out. They are more visible in real life - YouTube doesn't have great resolution. Anyway, enjoy!

Haha no, this was a project for my engineering computer programming course. In my free time I occasionally work on it and improve it, though. It didn't take as much time as it seems - just a good knowledge of the VBA language.

Thank you! It was pretty fun to plan out. I'm considering re-writing the code in another, more flexible language so that I can do more with it - maybe make it multiplayer and have a story line to it, etc... hard to say at the moment if/when I'll get to it.

Exactly what do you mean by timer? Are you referring to the code "Timer" (gives you the number of seconds that have passed since midnight as a Single), or something else?

Sorry, I don't give that information out on YouTube. However, if you wish to learn VB, there are some great tutorials online. If you have a copy of Microsoft Excel, you've got everything you need to start learning VB. Just press Alt-F11 and it gets you into the VB programming environment.
