In February 2009 a group of Danish soldiers accompanied by documentary filmmaker Janus Metz arrived at Armadillo, an army base in the southern Afghan province of Helmand. Metz and cameraman Lars Skree spent six months following the lives of young soldiers situated less than a kilometer away from Taliban positions. The outcome of their work is a gripping and highly authentic war drama that was justly awarded the Grand Prix de la Semaine de la Critique at this year's Cannes film festival. But it also provoked furious debate in Denmark concerning the controversial behavior of certain Danish soldiers during a shootout with Taliban fighters. The filmmakers repeatedly risked their lives shooting this tense, brilliantly edited, and visually sophisticated probe into the psychology of young men in the midst of a senseless war whose victims are primarily local villagers. @powerkid07 were on the planet not in it. Afghanistan isnt a lost war and ot is one america and the world cant afford to loose, it is a war worth fighting for. If we dont drive the scattered taliban remnents to the ground they could rise even stronger with a close relation to americas supposed "ally" pakistan. And losing afghanistan could open another doorway for iran to just move in and occupy it like theyr doing in iraq after the strayegic withdrwal as of now.

I saw this on PBS. These filmmakers are truly brave artists. This was more real than any American documentaries I have seen on war so far. Probably because it was less involved with politics and regional stereotypes. It was purely a war and soldier story, and this war, and the controversy of it all.
