  • @slummunky Red Dirt is any music from the Texas Big Country, Texas Panhandle (referred to by locals as West Texas and by some as the High Plains), West Texas, the Oklahoma Panhandle and most of Oklahoma. All of which were the dirt is red and the wind blows. Plus, depending on how you look at it, Oklahoma wouldn't be there if it weren't for Texas...it was all part of Tejas and all part of the Republic of Texas when it was brought into the Union.

  • This is one of my favorite Stoney songs...with Oklahoma Breakdown being a close second.

  • Texas music is the best SON!!!! That's how we roll!!

  • if u dont get chills when you first hear them start playin u got some serious issues

  • You all are a bunch of idiots...what does it matter??? they all make great Red Dirt Music...or all you all too ignorant to see that

  • "Born in Taft,Texas, LaRue actually spent the majority of his adolescence north of the Red River, where he was raised in Southeastern Oklahoma . "

From his own website. Stoney, CCR and the Rangers invented red dirt music and always play together.

    Dipshit kids!

  • Oh Yeah by the way where every he is from its still Red Dirt music! Pretty sure thats why he named his album "The Red Dirt Album" Just guessing!

"Born in Taft,Texas, LaRue actually spent the majority of his adolescence north of the Red River, where he was raised in Southeastern Oklahoma . He never really pictured himself doing anything else but making good music, so LaRue eventually made his way to the states Red Dirt hotbed of Stillwater" I was born in Washington but I was raised in Oklahoma!
