@Thill029 Yes indeed. Jaw-droppingly so! :-)
-
@cgseggal I'd love to hear your rationalization of that claim.

The difference between todays so called "intellectuals" and Thomas Jefferson is, TJ was a Do'er...
-
I love this so much. I keep coming back to it!

@Thill029 the idiot likely meant the truism "collective-individualism".. libertarians and objectivists also organize and get together. but yeah the statement was dumb. collectivism is about ur only as smart as the group, stuck in it and so forth.

@itrainsinoctober Just because you don't understand her philosophy doesn't make her a bad philosopher.
-
I love the way she/he says that rationalisation is a process, not of perceiving reality, but rather of attempting to make reality fit one's emotions... AS IF HER PHILOSOPHY IS NOT EXACTLY THAT!

Great video. I hate that the Tea Party movement has been using Ayn Rand as a reference. She would hate the tea party movement, she would probably not support it at all and would most definitely hate Palin and all the right wing religious freaks that would vote for her.

@JCJ77 she's been dead for almost thirty years... she died in 1982. i agree with everything else u said
@xkeltoix
"Rational self interest is really collectivism, individualism does not benefit most people"
I'm not gonna lie... that might really be the dumbest statement I've ever read.

@xkeltoix
She has been dead for 20 years and her 2 biggest works have been selling well for almost 60 years- you can't really call that failure.
You don't know what collectivism, individualism, or failure means.
