why would they sample craters? aren't they formed by meteorites, comets and other foreign objects?

I still keep my believe in Alien Life, As we have a infinite amount of planets and most or maybe some are bound to at least have some form of life. I mean if there wasn't then... What's the point of all the planets?

After all the recent findings, i think there is a very good chance that Mars once held life. :O) It may still hold some form of life today! Only time will tell. :O)
