This is a rare and beautiful picture disc recording of Heart Of Lothian by Marillion.
This record is precious to me. You probably note how delicate I am in placing the arm onto the record.
I am posting this as a tribute to both Marillion and the artist, Mark Wilkinson, who did the picture.
The picture shows a drummer boy standing bare foot on a misty Calton Hill in Edinburgh.
I believe the boy is supposed to represent Fish as a child.

This extended mix of the song has a beautiful intro which, in the album, had vocals added.
I personally think it sounds great without the vocals there.

I do not intend to breach anyones copyright nor tread on anyones toes, Only to tribute the band and the creator of the wonderful art work... and to share this truly beautiful picture disc record with the world.

  • Can't believe you played the disc, I have all the pic disc (albums/singles) and would not dream playing them. Of course there could be anything or nothing on them!

  • @alanjonesdrummer

Heheh, why do think I've got two copies?

  • Great song and incredible picture disc, i like the version because begins the suites "Misplaced Rendezvous" and "Windswept Thum" but instrumentals...

  • It is! *Shakes the hand of ShadowsKing1976*

The intro is basically the instrumental version of both "Misplaced Rendezvous"

"It's getting late, for scribbling and scratching on the paper..."

    ...and "Windswept Thumb"

"For I was born.. with a habit..."

Nice to meet someone else with good taste in music sir! :D

  • the best ;]

  • I only have my humble opinion here but, Marillion are the best prog rock band, maybe only second to Rush... it's such a close run thing... :)

  • not to sound smug but mine's signed by them all! still listen to them everyday!

  • i have two picture disc.......Quality,,,

  • Without sounding like a prick, may I humbly suggest if you love it as much as you say, that you buy a remotely decent turntable to play it on.

The cheap stylus and the white tack weighing the cartridge down wont be doing your records much good.

Lovely pic disc all the same, this one particularly is getting a bit rare now.
