Zelda Ocarina of Time - Big Poes

The location of all ten Big Poes. Played in real time on Mupen64 0.5 re-recording v2 with re-records used between each Poe because I lack the patience to do this all perfectly in one go.

It seems like a lot of people have trouble finding all ten of the Big Poes, which are needed to trade for one of the four bottles. And since you usually have to approach the spot where they appear from a very specific angle, a description or even a map of where they are can be less than great for finding them. So, I decided to make this video where I ride around Hyrule Field and kill all ten of them, approaching from what I find to be the easiest angles. I hope it helps.

In case you're wondering why I frequently kill one and then ride right past the spot where another appears, or why I don't use many carrots, it's because Big Poes won't appear if you've recently encountered another one. So, I have to give myself enough time between them, which means riding back and forth across Hyrule Field a few times to get them all without just sitting and waiting.

do poes dissapear when you kill them? for instance if i killed the one near the gerudo valley entrance, that would would be gone for the rest of the game and i have to capture the other ones in different locations. because i have an almost perfect file that i havn't finished and decided to pick it up again and i really don't remember which ones i've caught or not!

@Mayplethedruid If you kill a poe but don't capture it, it should appear again in the same location the next time you enter Hyrule Field. If you do capture it and take it to the poe trader, it will be gone and nothing will appear in that location again. (Not sure about if you capture it but then get rid of it elsewhere as I've never tried that.) They never change locations.

one time i accidently chased a poe into the moat, and I couldnt find the thing you catch after that. would it still be there, or do I not need it? or am i completly scrwed?

@znatsteakk Leave Hyrule Field and the Poe should appear again the next time you come back.

Does it need to be a specific time of day for the poes to appear, because sometimes they don't spawn?

@Desbreko Well I think it's a little different on the 3ds version because they spawn in the same areas but in different spots depending on which direction you ride in from
