  • Yeah, the Odie chick fucked it all up. We'll never forget Fred, his daughters, Rollie and Bradey. I played in bands there for years.

  • What made Freds was Fred and his great family,But lets not forget the great bartenders as well,Brady Fitzpatrick was a Icon at Freds, always with a smile and a song,The guy would buy you a beer and sing you a old irish song,Unfortunatly brady drowned at the fort last night July 15th 2010.He was as big apart of Freds as anyone and will be missed by me as much as we miss Fred and his \Family.

  • Got drunk there a few times, across the road at Keon's too

  • I was hoping to visit there some day. My great grand father Agapit (Peter) Maloney Sr. built the place.

  • Frankly, the Chapeau Hotel was gone long before it burned down. That Odie person ruined the signage with that silly Inukshuk, and painted the bar magenta! Not only that, she refused to rent rooms to people who came to Chapeau to visit their families! Only fishermen and loggers were welcome! Now it's gone the way of the Keon Hotel.

  • Living here many years it was one of the saddest days ever here in Chapeau. More care should have been taken and the fire avoided. For God sakes, it took out all of main street.

It should definitely be rebuilt as close to the design of the old place and our main street should be the prime concern of every citizen in this area....all small town and villages alike preserve there Main Street and strive to keep it in tip-top shape.

    Right now it is shameful!!!!!

  • sorry about the fire guys

  • not any more freds burnt on monday aug 26th at 3:00 am...raise a glass - cheers

  • fred's will never be matched, nor replaced, my kids still remember it as the place that smelled like beer, I loved it there, never felt more at home :-(

  • I was there for roast pork this past July--my friends and I were still raving [even before the fire] about how good the meal was! I will miss this place, especially since we had already made plans for one more visit this summer.
