Sorry that I'm coming out of nowhere with a lot of rage; but this is something that strikes very close to home with me as I had a friend in highschool who had suffered through being assulted. Thankfully she got help and talked to us (her friends) and the bastard got what he deserved.

I agree that what they said was wrong and that it is pretty stupid to equate the two situations but at the same time, i think that you go way too far, you can't be so judgemental yeah they made a mistake, but at least some of what they were saying was slightly true, that often psychological impacts are similar but that the physical impacts are worse for the beating. Honestly I recon they're good guys and that they simply made a foolish mistake

But I don't think women will understand the humiliation of losing a fight. Now for those of you who are guys, escalate that humiliation to the scale of not just fight, but almost being killed just from what started as a normal fight. Losing, and then not even being able to retreat.
