  • The skill is designing. I have turned wood by hand and really don't want to do it for a living. This is my living. I appreciate the skills necessary to hand turn but it's just not what I want to do.

  • sears used to sell a router-crafter that would diamond cut spiral cut and through cut spirals etc. set up was a bitch and I do not remember having carbide bits. I had one and used it some. it was not for money making, that's for sure.

    I think there was this guy Jacob Hopsphitzel or something who made the ultimate decorative

    woodturning lathe. Check ot fine woodworking mag. that was 1600's no shit.For fine work
