  • BAC-111s also have "interesting" takeoffs, not just for the noise, but they don't have the leading edge slats common to later commercial jets. The last incarnation of Braniff Airways in the US used BAC-111s.

    Also, the "Brit version of a 727" is the Hawker Siddeley Trident

  • This aircraft, the BAC 1-11, was among the loudest when taking off. Extremely noisy that all the other noise would be drowned out whenever a 1-11 flies overhead after takeoff.
