At the Autumn 2008 Innovation Japan exhibition held in Tokyo, the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Tokyo Denki University presented and exhibited a device that can obtain electrocardiograms through clothing to monitor patients on a daily basis.

Normally when electrocardiograms are administered, electrodes must be applied directly to the skin to take measurements, but this process is messy because a sticky gel type cream must be applied each time. To solve this problem, the group at Tokyo Denki University developed a device that can easily generate electrocardiograms without the sticky mess.
