Love the taste of french press coffee but hate the arduous task of cleaning out the grounds? Here's a quick and simple way to clean out your press and plunger using a funnel and a coffee filter that doesn't require dumping your grounds into the sink or garbage disposal.

  • Coffee grounds have been proven to reduce drain blockages as they are very acidic.

  • Wow, this process is so unnecessary. Instead, pour it out through a high mesh strainer. Takes me about a minute to thoroughly clean mine and little to no coffee grounds in sink.

  • more work than making the coffee!! also, you're making more stuff dirty

  • holy angle batman

  • This looks like a lot of work. Any easier methods out there?

  • Great suggestion. Thanks!

  • Thank you. Coffee grounds can plug a garbage disposal and you can throw that paper filter with the grounds in your garden! Thanks Sumitsumit

  • @klarinetta Yes, and I would suggest using a little bit of dishwasher soap to get rid of the coffee oils/residue. Make sure you rinse out the soap. Nothing is worse that tasting dishwasher soap in your coffee/food.

  • @dzookie1 if you dump your coffee grinds in the sink too many times, it'll clog it up eventually.

  • You need to unscrew the filter plunger part and rinse each part separately and screw it back together.
