Focus on credit market debt. Fractional reserve banking is not the problem. Cascading credit market debt, as is with all those roll over working the yield curve (which by the way-there's panic in even the most shortest term money markets) is the problem. And it's not being done by commercial banks. Commercial banks create close to 90% of the money(outside of money market mutual funds) yet are responsible for only 20% of credit market debt. The problem with the gold standard was, it's extremely difficult to control inflation and to maintain a stable currency value, since there needs to be a substantial amount of gold in reserves. Most of the coins were redeemable for quantities of gold much greater than the coin itself. People bitch about this and that, death and taxes. Secondly, this woman is an idiot. Commodity money barely worked then and wouldn't work now. Currency trading is big business and even forex or currency futures trading doesn't involve trading the actual paper currency. We're moving closer towards a 100% system of electronic digits, which I support. How was exchanging gold for paper currency in a fiat system a "scam"? Gold lost most of it's real value. Where is she getting this from? If anybody believes all this planning is even necessary to crash the dollar..first of all, the ownership of the federal reserve is divided amongst the world banks. If we weren't so hyper dependent to debt, there wouldn't be such velocity in quantitative easing. Lately the Fed has to choose between saving the dollar or the debt reliant economy. As far as the petrodollars market goes, all OPEC needs to do is announce that U.S. dollars are no longer accepted for oil.
