Watch in HQ!
This is an amv that Ive been working on for the past little while, and part of the real reason why my Taking Over Me BETA wasnt all that great.
This came about after watching an amv called Galaxy Bounce by Nostromo, and being really interested in what anime was used in in. I found out that it was an OVA called Pale Cocoon, and being only half an hour long, I downloaded it and watched it on my iPod at two in the morning. Lol. There was something about it though that really struck a chord with me, and I had this extremely strong urge to make an amv out of it.
The song is by a band called Infected Mushroom, who I love, and that if youve seen my Ergo Proxy BETA, youll know that I also used a song by them for that one as well. I first discovered them after watching yet another amv called Spit Soul by Reznic. The song itself is about four minutes long, and being the extremely lazy amv maker that I am, I cut it down to two minutes and something. The beginning is the actual beginning, and the end is the actual end, but Ive cut out so much out of the song that if it sounds funny, and doesnt really flow well, youll know why.
I really hope youll enjoy it, and even though it didnt take long to make (only three days or so) I put a lot of effort into it (even if it doesnt show. Lol) If you dont mind reading spoilers for this OVA, Ill tell you what the story is, and how it correlates with the song
Anime: Pale Cocoon (OVA)
Song: In Front Of Me
Artist: Infected Mushroom
Program: Sony Vegas Pro 8.0
SPOILERS BELOW!
At the beginning, of both the OVA and the amv, Ura is feeling very useless. He feels like humans existed somewhere else, and that the archives should show where they came from and why they are there. This is why he spends so much time excavating files and records, and over analyzing them, in case there is something there so he can find answers to his questions. Ura discovers a visual record of someone holding a book, and he wants to know what they are doing, and most of all, where they are. He becomes very frustrated, and he feels that this is the answer he was looking for, although there are no real clues to tell him about it.
happy part of the song
He has just figured it out. He needs to go up, because thats where the earth is, and where humans originally existed. He finally cuts away an elevator (I think, Im still not quite sure..) and flies out of what we later find out was the moon. We also find out that the video he discovered was a broadcast from the moon down to the people of earth to tell them that to be patient, and the ships to take them to the moon will pick them up soon. The woman in the broadcast says that she has seen the earth from where she is, and that it is a rusted one.
The end of the song
Ura looks up, and something shines in his eyes. He puts his hand up to shield whatever it was, and when he takes his hand down again, you can see the earth. The last thing he says is blue.
Enjoy the amv! And, if you watch the OVA, or have already seen it, please tell me your views! ^^

This was a really good amv!! I love the song by the infected mushrooms! Great choice for this anime! Did you use any masing techniques in this amv?

I have sony vegas 9.0 and am still kind of new at the whole masking thing. For some reason it doesn't give me that option under the pan/crop effect.? Who knows lol

oh! i think i have an idea of what you can do about that! i know that vegas platinum does that too, i'll send you a video for a tutorial to use masking on another program. ^^

Lovely work. <3 Wah, I love Nostromo's amvs. I've been meaning to watch Pale Cacoon but,not having known how short it was, I always put it off. I think I'll watch it now. And omg, if I had not read the description I would not have known you cut the song. It's either really good cuts or it's too late and my ears suck. xD So give yourself a pat on the back.
