Played on an emulator. No savestates or slowdown used. Single segment run played on Normal difficulty. Final time from gaining control to last hit on the final boss is 32:53.
This was a very fun game to run. It has so many different types of gameplay packed into it and even after putting lots of time into it the past several weeks the humor about it never got old. This run is far from perfect, but does showcase some interesting and difficult tricks. I'm very happy with this time.
Part 1
New Junk City: Pretty solid run of the level. I could've been a little faster bouncing up the tires and getting by the dogs before the toilet warp, but only by a second or so. The mini boss went about perfectly and outside of somehow missing the sixth crate on the first shot the final boss went great. Note the fourth hit there is intentionally delayed, it lets me get him in one less back and forth cycle.
Andy Asteroids 1: I'll only say this once: I'm intentionally avoiding the blue orbs. If you grab 50 of them you get a continue and the game presents it to you with a little cutscene that takes about 5 seconds or so. So instead of trying to grab them all, I try to grab none. I succeed in that here, not much else to say really, the first few of these are really easy.
What the Heck?: A couple tiny errors in the stage, all of which are pretty obvious. The whipping hooks through the floor trick saves a lot time on the level, especially the second use. Skips the snowman miniboss and if done correctly skips the cat from dropping the bomb that rains stalactites on you. The boss fight itself if probably the single most random event in the whole game. As far as I can tell there's no way to manipulate the first form into constantly shooting and there is no rhyme or reason into where the second form will attack from and when it will do it (anyone who has owned a cat I'm sure can appreciate how true to life this fight is). The result seen here is a slightly sub average time for the fight for me. The second phase can be sped up a little by simply standing your ground and shooting when it appears, but I have an extremely low success rate with doing this and not taking a hit, so I play it a little safe and dodge first. I lose probably half a second each time, but it's faster than taking a hit by a good margin.
Andy Asteroids 2: The only at all tricky thing about this is getting Psycrow out of the way. Once that's over with this is probably the easiest of these levels.
Can someone please tell me how the hell you kill the first boss, the wheelie bin, its doing my head in. Have tried 7 shots with the strong plasma gun and he just wont die!!

When he gets to his last phase (where he's rolling back and forth) don't get hit, he resets to the first phase with full health when he hits you.
