  • I doubt that you can buy less than a few hundred pounds of casting sand. What do you want it for? Dada, aluminum burns can be nasty but have you ever played with molten magnesium?

  • Hi everybody!Yes,i agree in it's oil bonded sand(very expansive stuff).I'm from Germany and I'm a foundry-Mechanic,also known as Hand-Molder .Greensand is bonded with water and Bentonit,you're right.Aluminium burnings are horrible,i got a few scars on my wrist...i know waht i'm talkin' about.;)

  • The children should have been wearing eye protection.

  • I don't want to be pedantic, but that isnt greensand you were using, it is an oil bonded sand. Greensand is bonded with water.
